We are Democracy Without Elections (DWE).
Our website is DemocracyWithoutElections.org.
We were founded February 2018 and became a 501c3 non profit organization April 2021. Our organization number is 86-3282323.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Joining the DWE organization is considered by DWE to be active consent to collect the following personal information during the sign-up process: First Name, Last Name, City, State (if applicable), Country, Gender, Age, Race, Education Level, Housing Type, Political Views & Email Address. For newsletter subscribers only email addresses are required.
This information is collected so that we can better understand our membership and is accessible to several website administrators with log-in credentials. Email addresses are sent to the editor for newsletter distribution and may also be used by members to contact other members.
Aggregated information may be made public for promotional purposes and to help the general public better understand who we are.
Gender and ethnicity information may be used during the board member selection process to provide for a more representative board.
How do we protect your information?
Although we do not use vulnerability scanning and/or scanning to PCI standards, we only provide articles and information on the website and never ask for credit card numbers and use regular malware scanning. Dues and contribution payments are accepted through the PayPal system which uses the PayPal security protocols. Your personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential. In addition, all personal information you supply is encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and implement a variety of security measures when a user enters, submits, or accesses their information to maintain the safety of your personal information.
Who we share your data with
DWE will not provide personal information to other individuals or organizations - except when required by law - unless you provide written consent.
If you request a password reset (site administrators), your IP address will be included in the reset email.

What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, you can update your personal information by using the private link sent to you via email when you signed up. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you by contacting the Webmaster. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for legal purposes.
